Golf Equipment Counterfeiter Receives Jail Time

For the second time in less than a week, Acushnet Co., which is comprised of the Titleist, FootJoy and Cobra brands, played an integral role in shutting down an online seller of Titleist counterfeit products. Gareth Lee of Portsmouth, England, was sentenced by the Portsmouth Crown Court to two-and-a-half years in prison for his role in the sale of counterfeit products.

North Carolina's Hyler Nominated To Serve Term As President Of The USGA

The U.S. Golf Association announces that James B. Hyler Jr. of Raleigh, N.C., has been nominated to serve a one-year term as president of the association. The election of officers and the 15-member USGA Executive Committee will be held Feb. 6, 2010, at the USGA’s Annual Meeting in the Village of Pinehurst, N.C.
