Tiger Woods continues to lead with 8,665.627 points, while Justin Leonard currently holds the eighth and final qualifying spot with 1,801.102 points. … Castle Pines Golf Club in Castle Rock, Colo., moves to ClubTec‘s SQL Club Management Solutions. … Rain Bird Corp., a manufacturer and provider of irrigation products and services, seeks nominations for its 2008 Intelligent Use of Water Award. This award recognizes persons or organizations whose innovation, leadership, ingenuity and overall commitment to improved landscape water efficiency has raised the standard for outdoor water conservation.

The FDNY 9-11 Memorial Golf Outing raises money for The Thomas Elsasser Fund, a charity backed by the United Firefighters Association (UFA) and designed to benefit families of fallen firefighters. Registration is open until May 10 and the $390 entry fee includes four nights of accommodations and three rounds of golf. Firefighters can register by calling 877-411-3369 or going to www.fdnygolf.com. … The United States announces its 2008 Palmer Cup team that will face Europe in the annual collegiate Ryder Cup-style competition, June 26-27 in Gailes, Scotland. The United States leads the series 6-4-1, but has lost the last two competitions in Europe. … Green Friendly reports that Volvo China Open winner Damien McGrane wore its golf belt. … Golf Channel hires Tom Stathakes as the network’s senior vice president of programming, production and operations.
