The U.S. Golf Association has accepted a record 1,251 entries for the U.S. Women’s Open, which will be played June 28-July 1 at Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club in Southern Pines, N.C. It is the fourth consecutive year the number of entries for the championship has surpassed 1,000. The previous record of 1,158 was set in 2005 for the Women’s Open at Cherry Hills Country Club in Cherry Hills Village, Colo.
