Graphite Design International reports that its YS-6 model led the graphite wood shaft model count at the PGA Championship, according to the Darrell Survey.A total of 14 YS-6 models were in play and, in all, 37 shafts bearing GDI’s YS brand were in play. â?¦ The Great Bear Golf and Country Club in East Stroudsburg, Pa., sent a pair of two-man teams to the finals of the ESPN National Golf Challenge. Kevin Dixon and Justin Hilgert won the gross title with a score of 66. The net title went to Christopher Reilly and Kevin Reilly. The winning teams will advance to the finals in Las Vegas, Nev., in November. â?¦ Ashley Hoagland earned her first professional win at the Hunters Oak Futures Golf Classic and became the 11th recipient of the Mio "First-Time Winner" award. Hoagland was awarded a Mio Golf XE watch. â?¦ Empire Lakes Golf Course in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and site of the Nationwide Tour’s Mark Christopher Charity Classic will build a new clubhouse starting this fall. The construction project will begin immediately after the tournament in October and is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2007 event.
