Goetz and Meyer Named NHSGCA PowerBilt Players of the Year

Christian Goetz of Burgettstown, Pa., and Kelsey Meyer of St. Louis, Mo., were named National High School Golf Coaches Association PowerBilt Players of the Year for boys and girls high school golf. This is the second year of the awards program, which honored 43 boys and girls as all-Americans and players of achievement.

The World Golf Hall of Fame in St. Augustine, Fla., will unveil a special exhibit in honor of the 2006 Ryder Cup on Friday, Aug. 25. The exhibit, "A Tribute to The Ryder Cup," will feature stories of Hall of Fame members who have participated on or captained Ryder Cup teams over the years.

In order to distinguish the new tour from the men’s Champions Tour, the ISLGT agreed with the PGA Tour to rename the circuit. … Turner Network Television and PGA.com announced that they have teamed up with Txtstation to launch a multi-platform viewer’s poll and sweepstakes in conjunction with the PGA Championship. Each day viewers will be asked to interact using their cell phone or via PGA.com and submit their votes to poll questions. … Preferred Hotel Group‘s new Preferred Golf initiative showcases its member collection of golf destinations to travel agents, meeting planners, golf tour operators and the traveling public.
